Disconnect and offboarding
Leaving is a procedure with a record, not a promise. An administrator controls it from the console, and it produces evidence your team can keep.

Pause — reversible
A tenant administrator can pause Knovara from the console at any time. Employees immediately see that it is paused; new questions and writes are refused and nothing queued is started. Pausing is reversible — an administrator resumes it from the same place. Use it for a change freeze, an incident, or a review.
Disconnect — the offboarding path
Disconnect ends the service for the deployment. The moment an administrator confirms it (behind a checklist and a typed confirmation phrase, so it cannot be triggered by accident), the platform:
- refuses every new request from your organisation, including the admin console itself;
- does not start queued writes, and reconciles any in-flight write rather than retrying it blindly;
- deletes transient downloads and previews, and purges any index or extracted text, within 24 hours;
- lets conversation state, operational logs and the audit and usage ledgers expire on the retention schedule;
- never touches your original files, which remain in your SharePoint.
Your part, and the record
After disconnect, your administrator revokes the Knovara app's consent in Entra and removes the app from Teams. Uninstalling the Teams app alone is not treated as proof that grants or data were removed — the consent revocation is. The console hands the administrator a downloadable disconnect record (deployment, region, release, configuration version, the instant, who requested it, and what was acknowledged).

Export first
Your audit and usage records are exportable (CSV or JSON) from the console for any period, and configuration and generated artifacts are exportable without requiring a renewal. Export what you need before you disconnect; the retention clock starts at disconnect.
